Degumming
Degumming – the mildest and most used technology for vegetable oil cleaning.
- BD - BASIC DEGUMMING - contents of phosphorus in degummed oil up to 60 ppm (60 mg/kg)
- SD - STANDARD DEGUMMING - contents of phosphorus in degummed oil up to 40 ppm (40 mg/kg)
- ED - EXTRA DEGUMMING - contents of phosphorus in degummed oil up to 20 ppm (20 mg/kg)
Basic cleaning technologies of vegetable oils is degumming. Degumming means the removal of mainly phospholipids, which are in oil.

Basic degumming
is simple technological equipment for rough removal of phospholipids by water action with a weak addition of acid. Basic degumming removes phospholipids only in one stage (one pass through the centrifugal separator) and it is suitable only as rough oil preparation for subsequent processing technologies, where higher contents of P are sufficient.
Technological Diagram - Basic degumming
Standard degumming
is equipment utilising two separation stages for removal of phospholipids and therefore significantly increases the efficiency of the process and its stability from the standpoint of quality of the degummed oil. The technology utilises the properties of the acid, lye, and water.
Extra degumming
is equipment utilising two separation stages for removal of phospholipids and therefore significantly increases the efficiency of the process and its stability from the standpoint of quality of the degummed oil. The technology utilises the properties of the acid, lye, and water. In case of low quality oil allows for performing oil or free fatty acid neutralisation with increased lye dosing, creating soap stock.
